Introduction

Life is made up of many parts. It is about balancing our relationship and connection with ourselves, our intimate partner, family, friends, our passions, our purpose, our work whilst finding time to stay fit and healthy in mind, body, spirit as we continue to grow, evolve and contribute. 

In this 21st century life can get chaotic, overwhelming and too busy. We are constantly bombarded and distracted by social media and constant information. We are living in a crowded, fast paced, technical world. Even though there is so many modalities of communication, our connection to ourself and others is easily lost. Life can become lonely regardless whether we are surrounded by others.

Life can deliver the unexpected. Trauma and tragedy can hit us. Stress can overwhelm us. We can lose connections and lose our way. Through transitions in life we can lose our purpose. Our bodies change. Our hormones change. Life like as we know it may be pulled from underneath us. We can be faced with the uncertain. We can lose our way.

Constantly filling our brains, bodies and souls with the assaults of life, chemicals, busyness and stress leads to disease. Our brains and our bodies need to recalibrate and our souls need to catch up. We need to give ourselves time and space to do this. Your health and your time are really valuable.

What is Coaching?

Coaching is a form of development where a coach will guide, help and support you to unlock your true and maximum potential. A coach will identify where you are now and clarify where you would like to be. The role of a coach is to help and support you in closing this gap. The coach will encourage self-discovery, self responsibility and accountability. The coach will ask the client unique quality questions to the client to help unravel and uncover unconscious ways of thinking, belief systems and behaviours.The coach will inspire change, help integrate and encourage choices and actions to consolidate changes with the client. Numerous approaches, methodology, techniques, process s, experiential learning modalities, resources and training is used depending on the client’s needs and the coaches training and experience. It is a highly effective system for achieving proven results.

Why do you need a coach? 

Most us want happiness, freedom, peace, joy, balance, fulfilment and confidence and more money. We want time and to be able to live out our dreams. 

Unfortunately things get in the way of us achieving what we want. For example, our work, not enough money, unhelpful or unhealthy choices, unhealthy relationships, tragedy, trauma, ourselves, our behaviour, our habits, our belief system and way of thinking. 

Even when we decide to make changes for ourselves and our lives and have the knowledge on what we need to do, we often let ourselves down. We have good intentions of change, yet can not sustain those intentions and the supporting actions which consolidate those changes, so we go back to the same old thing. Only 5% of our thinking is conscious thought  95% of our thinking is unconscious thought laid deep in our brains. This is called conditioned thinking which we developed as a child and growing up. Our behaviour and actions are driven by our unconscious thought, our conditioned thinking. 95% of our thoughts we have today are the same thoughts we had yesterday, only 5% of our thinking is new thought which means we are cementing the same thinking into our psychology. This is why it makes change very difficult, especially on our own. We need to develop awareness in order for us to grow and change.

A coach stimulates awareness of your unconscious thinking, cyclic behaviours, by asking you quality questions. They direct and guide you to a place of clarity. With understanding of where you are and how you got there, they can lead you to where you want to go and for you to experience your full potential. A coach motivates you, offers valuable resources, reminds you, helps you to stay on track, keeps you accountable and makes sure you follow through to get to where you want to go and be who you want to be. The journey becomes a shared one with help and support. At the times when you feel you are not as strong, a coach will be there to remind you of your strength.

The investment of having a coach far outweighs the cost of not having one. When you seek and commit to change, you take a courageous step to understanding yourself, which can in turn propel you forward. Art Therapy

Art Therapy is using the creative process of art, drawing and painting to unlock areas of yourself and life, to allow for creative flow and to experience presence. It helps you relax, let go of unwanted trauma, past drama, cyclic patterns, behaviours, unhelpful thinking and busy thinking and gently brings you back into your power, back into the present moment and gets you in touch with your true essence. It awakens the creative soul. It is a beautiful experience, fun and very effective for soul connection or reconnection, unlocking creativity, stress, trauma and creating balance.

Equine Therapy

Horses are highly sensitive animals. They have heightened awareness, being flight animals. They pick up on emotions. Horses reflect our energy, they are a mirror to what we are feeling. Being with horses we learn to be present with ourselves. We tap into the essence of who we really are. We experience our own authenticity. Equine therapy offers a beautiful experience. You will feel a deep sense of connectedness with such a powerful animal, a sense of calm. Equine Therapy is highly effective for fear, anxiety, panic, trauma and general well-being and balance. Coaching Techniques and Methods

What is ACT? 

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is a form of coaching using acceptance and mindfulness strategies mixed in different ways with commitment and behaviour-change strategies to increase psychological flexibility. By encouraging you to commit to change, accept your feelings and be present whilst still choosing a value based direction and taking the supportive action. This allows you to move forward. It allows your emotions to be felt and resolved at the same time allowing you to live your life.

What is EFT?

EFT is is an intervention combining elements of exposure and cognitive therapy and somatic stimulation. It is also called tapping as it uses a two step finger tapping process with a cognitive acceptance statement. EFT, emotional freedom technique affects the amygdala (stress centre in the brain) and hippocampus (memory centre). Both these areas of the brain play a role in the decision process when you decide if something is a threat. EFT has been known to lower cortisol levels therefore reducing stress. The condition response loop breaks the cycle of stress and trauma. It is effective for making clear decisions, for addictions, cravings, phobias, PTSD, anxiety, depression and pain.

What is EMDR?

EMDR was first discovered and developed by Francine Shapiro. EMDR Eye movement desensitising and reprocessing is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven to be effective for processing trauma. By waving two fingers back and forth in front of the eyes and allowing the eyes to follow. The eye movement is similar to those in slow wave sleep. Therapy shifts the “fight and flight response” by creating a bridge between parts of the brain. With the rapid eye movement, pathways are connected between part of the emotional brain and the part of the brain which can think usefully. The memory becomes more distant, the distress is diminished and a person can think about themselves more adaptively rather than having the old thoughts associated with the trauma. It is highly effective and used for addictions, anxiety, panic, PTSD and Trauma.

What is NLP?

Neurolinguistic programming founded by Richard Bander and John Grinder is a methodology, a set of tools and ,models techniques to help a person to communicate more effectively with themselves and others. It is a way to help someone change thought patterns and behaviours to help them achieve a desired outcome.

What is Subconscious Reprogramming?

Thinking and belief systems are laid in the subconscious mind early in ones life, during life or from trauma. This conditioned thinking can drive behaviour and actions. Sub-conscious reprogramming is a methodology and guidance system to help expose, uncover and unravel conditional thinking and beliefs and replace it with different helpful thinking. To encourage and support change in this thinking the person can break cyclic patterns and unhelpful habits and behaviours.

What is Ericksonian Hypnosis?

Ericksonian Hypnosis is an indirect hypnosis named after Dr Milton Erickson. Using a subtle respectful method it utilising body language, stories, metaphors and other hypnotic techniques and language to help the person change behaviour, habits and improve outcomes.

What is Visualisation Technique?

Using the imagination to visulise something and hold it in your mind. Using meditation and mindfulness visualising is a powerful tool in creating intention and a life vision. It can be used during meditation.

What is Body focused Trauma work?- Somatic Experiencing. SE was founded by Peter Levine

This is a body awareness approach to healing trauma. It helps you to be able to self-regulate and heal through listening and being present with your body sensations. Using breathing and other body sensation techniques, the approach allows the instinctual actions that were unable to complete at the time of the trauma to be safely and gradually discharged in the present time.

We can get into a stuck state after trauma. Long after the threat has gone your body can be crawling with anxiety, trauma can be locked deep  in our thinking and in our bones. At the slightest trigger you may experience a body reaction. The red alert hormones are still flowing as chemical messages telling us to "fight or flight." You  can't seem to turn them off even after you have done all the things you are meant to do after trauma. The rational mind has got in the habit of preventing the complete discharge of survival energies  and do not allow the nervous system to regain its equilibrium.

SE is about re-assessing the body natural healing ability. By engaging in a process of physical, cognitive and emotional self discovery you can disrupt the beliefs and behaviours that keep you locked in a state of trauma and activate your natural healing impulses. It's about trusting the body and not overriding it with our beliefs and thoughts. Used with EFT and EMDR it is highly effective for resolving trauma.

What is Mindfulness? 

Mindfulness is a psychological process of bringing ones attention to experience the present moment. It is is a mental state achieved by focusing ones awareness on the present moment while calmly acknowledging and accepting ones feelings thoughts and bodily sensations. 

How is Mindfulness helpful?

It increases awareness and maintains your attention in the present moment. It helps you focus on life now rather than thinking ahead unnecessarily or being anxious about the future or thinking about the past.

What is Meditation?

Meditation is a practise where an individual uses a technique such as mindfulness or focusing the mind on something, an object, word, thought, phrase to train attention and awareness to achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state. Many meditation practises are based on Eastern philosophies or religions around the world. 

How is Meditation helpful?

Meditation accesses the unconscious part of the brain and activates the Neo Frontal Cortex, the seat of compassion. It helps develop emotional intelligence, re-calibrates the brain, improves health, increases longevity and heals the mind, body and soul. Many studies have shown it reverses the DNA reactions which cause stress, reduces blood pressure, anxiety, depression and lengthens the telomeres, the tips of the chromosome which affect the ageing process.
